TVMA Auxiliary

Booth 10
The Auxiliary to the Texas Veterinary Medical Association was formed in 1923 to provide additional support for the association.

At the time, there were no practicing women veterinarians in Texas, and the new organization was named the Women’s Auxiliary and consisted solely of the wives of TVMA-member veterinarians. In 1953 the organization was renamed the Women’s Auxiliary to the Texas Veterinary Medical Association.

But today, now that most of the graduating students from the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine are women, the organization is named the Auxiliary to the Texas Veterinary Medical Association and welcomes spouses of either gender.
